About Me
Brent G. Berkley, Esq.
Bridging the Gap Between Law, Policy, and Innovation
For over 35 years, my career has been defined by a single, persistent goal: solving the complex challenges of the justice system by marrying deep legal expertise with the power of modern technology.Â
Â
I don’t just view law and technology as separate domains; I see them as the twin engines capable of driving true operational efficiency, accountability, and public safety.
Â
My journey began in the trenches of the courtroom.Â
Â
From working as a private and public defense attorney, to my work as a prosecuting attorney in Utah, I handled everything from misdemeanors to capital murder cases, gaining a visceral understanding of the system's pain points. Whether acting as a Special Assistant United States Attorney on federal firearms cases, managing large and diverse caseloads as a county prosecutor, or working with local city and county governments, my focus was always on improving outcomes, for the communities I served and the justice system as a whole.
Â
The desire to scale that impact led me to the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA). As Program Director, I moved from local litigation to national and international influence. Traveling across all 50 U.S. states and countries like Ukraine, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Palau, India, and Micronesia, I saw firsthand how technological adoption and proper training could transform victim advocacy and trial practice.Â
Â
I wasn't just managing grants or portfolios; I was helping to modernize how justice is delivered globally.
Â
For 11 years at Axon Enterprise, as I continued this mission in a number of roles, culminating my tenure there as Director of Strategic Justice Relationships. The landscape of evidence management has shifted, and I thrive on helping diverse teams; from small offices to organizations with over 2,000 users, navigate that change.Â
Â
Whether it’s policy development or technical integration, I am passionate about empowering legal professionals to leverage 21st-century tools.
Â
Ultimately, I am an agile, persuasive, and committed professional who believes that technology, when deployed with purpose, creates a safer and more transparent society. I specialize in building bridges between stakeholders, driving operational efficiency, and turning complex regulatory landscapes into opportunities for progress.Â
Â
In short, I’ve spent my career advocating for the unrealized potential of the criminal justice system. Â
Â
And I’m just getting started.
